Bespoke Gorilla Safari Tours in Uganda

Uganda is an East African country and the most African blessed country to have two national parks protecting the world’s rare endangered mountain gorillas thus grabbing a name of ‘’The Pearl of Africa’’ due to its distinctive national parks with these two gorillas keeping parks being inclusive. Mountain gorillas in Uganda are only found in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park which are all found in the western parts of Uganda therefore you can be able to track the Mountain gorillas in these two parks on the same gorilla safari without any delays because they are close to each other.

You will grab a great experience when you visit these two parks because they consist of different gorilla families though Mgahinga has one gorilla family which is habituated and Bwindi has 14 habituated gorilla families. The only habituated gorilla family in Mgahinga national park is called Nyakagezi well as the 14 habituated gorilla families in Bwindi include the oldest gorilla family called Mubare which is tracked from the Buhoma sector together with other families called Habinyanja and Rushegura.

The rest of the habituated gorilla families are found in the other three sectors of Bwindi which include Rushaga with gorilla families like Nshongi, Busingye, Bweza, Mishaya, Kahungye, Bikingi and Bushaho plus Nkuringo gorilla family which is found in Nkuringo sector and Oruzogo, Kyaguriro and Bitukura which are all found in Ruhija sector.

You can start with a visit to Bwindi and enjoy the diversity of Mountain gorillas in the Park because it almost covers half of the world’s Mountain gorillas’ population with almost 500 gorilla individuals. You will track these endangered primates in a group of 8 individuals who are above 15 years and in a stable and good condition. You will be allowed to spend with the gorillas for strictly one hour and you are emphasized to maintain maximum silence and stay calm while tracking the gorillas such that you may find them easily and the tracking starts at 08:30am after having the briefings at the head offices of the Park which take place at exactly 07:00am.

Bwindi also consists of over 346 bird species, 120 mammals, 163 tree species, 202 species of butterflies and 27 frog species which you can also see in the Park. The Park’s accommodation includes silver back lodge, Buhoma community Banda’s, Chameleon hill lodge, Buhoma haven lodge, Clouds lodge, Engagi lodge and Buhoma lodge plus many others.

After your tour in Bwindi you can go for the Nyakagezi gorilla family which is only found in Mgahinga national park but on your way to Mgahinga you will enjoy the scenic views of Lake Bunyonyi. Activities in Mgahinga also start in the morning therefore your first day in the Park will be having short detours near the Park and then you will stay in one of the Park’s accommodation which will be booked for you and these include Mount Gahinga lodge, Amajambere Iwacu community camp, Mucha hotel and many others. You will then go for the gorilla tracking in the following day of which the tracking also resumes at exactly 07:00am with the gorilla pre – briefings that take place at the head offices of the Park and then start tracking at 08:30am.

Tracking is recommendable for 8 individuals per group and you will be aided with the experienced Park guides of which you have to be aware of viewing the Nyakagezi gorilla family which is found in the Park and like the other gorilla families, it is also viewed from a distance of at least 7 to 8 meters and spend one hour with the gorillas. You are not encouraged to smoke and eat from the Park and only individuals above 15 years and strictly those who are in a fine situation are allowed to go for the tracking. A gorilla permit for these two Parks (Uganda) costs US$ 600 and Lake Bunyonyi is near the two Parks hence you can access it for a holiday and you enjoy the boat cruises from there plus a view to aquatic birds.

Therefore, you can book for the gorilla permits for Uganda’s two gorilla tracking national parks at once when you are still in your homeland and it will be easy for you on your arrival in Uganda because you will just be given the gorilla permits of both Parks and then go for the activity without any delays of moving up and down looking for the permits. In this you are emphasized to consult the best tour companies which will offer good services to you such as the Nature Adventure Africa Safari Limited which will provide you with the all bookings in the all trip including the vehicle which you will need for your tour to be accomplished depending on the type of a tour you may like whether luxury or not.
