Gorilla permits are very important as they determine whether you will have space on your gorilla trek or not. Once we have your gorilla permits, we will then advise you on the Lodges where you will stay. Of course the choice will depend on your budget and interests.

Hike through thick forested slopes of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of the world’s largest population of the rare mountain gorillas. Embarking on a gorilla trekking honeymoon safari in Bwindi Forest with your new spouse will be one of the most memorable experiences you will share as you start your new life together. Bwindi park contains almost half of the world‘s population of the endangered mountain gorillas making it an extremely valuable conservation site. Gorilla trekking takes places in all regions of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park including Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, and Rushaga areas. The sectors all have habituated gorilla families and the gorilla trekking permits are booked at UWA head office in Kampala.

Experience an unfathomable connection during a magical hour in the company of mountain gorillas.  Another unusual feature of the park is that it is one of the very few in Africa that must be experienced by foot. In groups of eight you’ll trek this dramatic natural setting accompanied only by an expert guides and trackers. As some groups of gorillas settle higher up the mountain ranges, the treks often range between 2 to 8 hours before your first encounter. Some of the trekking can therefore be steep and strenuous, but we promise that your perseverance will be well rewarded. The guides are very informative, the place is beautiful and the porters are very helpful on the slippery parts.

Imagine the excitement of setting your eyes on a gorilla family, full of anticipation and in awe of your surroundings, and the thrill of first setting eyes on a magnificent male silver back hooting its chest makes it an experience that will leave you with a life time of memories.  Discovering one of these families in their natural habitats is a magical experience observing a baby gorilla at such close proximity can be incredibly moving. The trek for these great apes is tiresome but very rewarding by meeting, pending time with them while taking photo and videos of them. Viewing time is limited to only one hour and only 8 people to each gorilla family is allowed per day. Gorilla trekking permits cost US$600 per person per trek, and it is strongly recommended that you buy these in advance, as only a limited number are available each day. Safaris can be very romantic and thus makes them ideal for honeymoons.

After experience mountain gorillas, we then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi one of the deepest lakes in Africa. Lake Bunyonyi has almost 29 islands and is good for your honeymoon relaxation from trekking mountain gorillas.
