Uganda is one of the best countries in Africa and in whole of the World where you can explore Mountain Gorillas due to its national parks such as Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park which covers almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas.
Bwindi Forest National Park is the best park which covers the most number of mountain gorillas in Uganda and the park is located in South-Western Uganda about 530km from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Bwindi Forest National Park can be reached by road from several directions but simplest route is from Kampala via Kabale then to Kanungu and then to Buhoma where the headquarters of the park are found and using that route, you will use 5 to 6 hours. However, you can also travel by air transport from Entebbe to the tarmac airstrip at Kisoro town. Visitors to Buhoma can also charter planes to Kayonza (near Butogota) or Savannah (Kihihi) airstrips.
Nature Adventure Africa Safaris offers gorilla tours in Bwindi Forest National Park exploring mountain gorillas in Uganda. You can get a car hire from the above mentioned company for a self drive to Bwindi Forest National Park for mountain gorilla trekking and this activity starts from 08:30am and can last from a few hours to a whole day depending on where the gorillas were left the previous day.
When you reach the park, you cannot perform the activity in the evening because gorillas are difficult to find by that time and instead you will have to rest from one of the nearby lodges depending on which lodge was booked for you before you arrive in the park.
Before arriving to the park you will need to first talk to the park consultant Moses who will tell all what is needed for you to explore mountain gorillas in Uganda and some of the required are for you to pay at least 30% of the agreed price with the park consultant in order to secure your visit to any park for gorilla trekking like in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park or even in Bwindi national park. The balance is ever paid during your arrival and that’s where they will remove you together with the park consultant and take you to your booked place where you are to live in till the next day for you to start your gorilla trekking.
Some of the places to live in while in Bwindi Forest National Park include Buhoma Lodge, Silver Back Lodge, Mahogany Springs Lodge, Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge and many others. All these lodges offer breakfast, lunch and supper plus them being very luxurious and their staff is ever friendly to the guests thus making the transaction very simple and easy.
Gorillas are seen a distance from where they are in order to prevent some inconveniences like the spread of diseases between you and them and in performing this gorilla trekking activity, you will be given the well trained park guides who will escort you in each and every thing. After your gorilla trekking, you will then return to your lodge for your supper rest till morning.
Therefore, you need to organize with us and visit Uganda for the gorilla trekking activity. The company will give you each and everything needed for you to take the activity!
