Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Gorilla Forest
Pickup from your hotel in Kampala early in the morning by our tour guide and drive off heading south-westwards of the country for approximately 8-10hrs to Bwindi National Park. The park is best known for its Mountain Gorillas.
Enroute stop at the Equator for an educational talk as well as a photographic opportunity, and another stop in Mbarara stop for lunch, after which drive onwards; a drive that will take you through Uganda’s rolling green hills through the highlands, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’ before making the final journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla. Check in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This morning you will have to wake up very early to get ready for the most thrilling activity of Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi! Report at the ranger station at 8:00am with your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear where the guides will take you to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi can take between a few hours and the whole day depending on the group that is being tracked.
The guides describe the surroundings and the lifestyle of the animals in depth. After tracking, you can relax at your accommodation or go for a guided village walk to visit the Local Batwa Community returning in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Bwindi National Park – Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast the safari will proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. The drive takes approximately 7-8 hours with scenic views on the way all through. You will have a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch before making the final descent to Lake Mburo National Park.
Upon arrival in Lake Mburo and checking in at your accommodation, you will go for an afternoon boat trip. For birders, this is one of the best places to find African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike. Go for an evening game drive. Retire for the evening and spend the night at your accommodation.
Day 4: Lake Mburo National Park – Kampala
Wake up at leisure, have breakfast, have a guided nature walk and then proceed to Kampala which is approximately 3 to 4hrs drive. This drive will take you across the Equator where you will stop for photography as well as an informative talk, a stop at the Royal Drum makers is so rewarding, arriving in Kampala in the evening.
